Glasses made of ecological material!

How the biggest watch brands are taking care of the planet?

At first glance it seems strange: where are watches, and where are environmental problems, where is the threat of irreversible pollution of the planet?! A wristwatch is so small, can it do any harm to the environment comparable to the impact of modern energy, mining and manufacturing industries, transportation?
True, the watches themselves are, in general, quite clean, their work is in no way connected with the toxic emissions into the atmosphere, their production is concentrated in relatively small factories, if not in artisanal type workshops. The volume of materials that could be “blamed” for the creation of watches (metals, polymers) is not comparable with that of the automobile industry, for example…
And yet each year the global watch industry, especially luxury brands, increasingly turns its face to the theme of ecology. By promoting their achievements in this field, the watchmaking top brands, on the one hand, contribute to the preservation of our world and, on the other hand, perhaps more importantly, quite loudly draw attention to environmental issues.
Watch brands contribute to the preservation and improvement of the Earth’s nature and climate in various ways. Let’s take a look at some of them.

BUT!!!

For the production of watches and their components, literally, garbage is used – primarily used plastic “mined” both on land and in the sea. It is known that all kinds of waste of this kind – PET bottles, plastic bags, etc. – practically do not decompose in the natural environment and greatly pollute it. Collection of such waste, its recycling and further use is the most direct, most obvious way to solve environmental problems. Of course, it is not easy and, in addition, it is also connected with the aspects harmful for the environment – take for example the exhaust of engines working on sea ships, which catch all sorts of rubbish from the ocean. However, studies show that this circle is by no means closed: it is still more useful to extract the same PET bottles from the waters, collect paper waste, etc.
