In addition to engagement rings, lab-grown diamonds are gaining popularity for a wide range of jewelry, including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and more. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself, these diamonds offer a guilt-free way to indulge in luxury.

Lab-grown diamonds are also an excellent choice for those who are mindful of their carbon footprint. The Rise of Lab-Grown Diamonds:

Lab-grown diamonds, also known as synthetic or cultured diamonds, are created through advanced technological processes that replicate the natural diamond-growing conditions found deep within the Earth’s mantle. These diamonds possess the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as their mined counterparts but are more sustainable and ethical in many ways.

Why Choose Lab-Grown Diamonds in Vancouver?

  • Ethical Sourcing:

One of the key reasons for the growing popularity of lab-grown diamonds in Vancouver is the ethical aspect. Vancouverites are known for their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. Lab-grown diamonds significantly reduce the environmental footprint associated with diamond mining, which often involves extensive land disruption and the release of harmful carbon emissions. By choosing lab-grown diamonds, you contribute to a cleaner and greener future for Vancouver and the planet.

  • Exceptional Quality:

They are virtually indistinguishable from mined diamonds to the naked eye, and they come in various shapes, sizes, and colors, providing a wide range of options for your jewelry needs.

In Vancouver, where transparency and accountability matter, lab-grown diamonds offer a higher level of traceability. You can easily track the origin and journey of your diamond, ensuring that it meets your ethical and environmental standards.

  • Affordability:

Lab-grown diamonds are often more affordable than their mined counterparts. This accessibility allows couples in Vancouver to choose larger or more intricate designs for their engagement rings or other jewelry pieces without compromising on quality or ethics.

  • Customization:

Fashion is a dynamic and ever-changing industry, with trends coming and going like the seasons. Vintage fashion, however, is a timeless and enduring aspect of style that continues to captivate fashion enthusiasts of all ages. From the glamorous attire of the 1920s to the rebellious looks of the 1980s, the evolution of vintage fashion reflects each decade’s cultural shifts and societal changes. In this article, we will journey through time, exploring the distinctive fashion trends of each decade from the 1920s to the 1990s.

1920s: The Roaring Twenties – Flappers and Jazz Age Glamour

The 1920s marked a period of liberation and change, with women gaining more independence and social freedom. This was reflected in the era’s fashion, as flapper dresses became the epitome of rebellion against traditional norms. Women embraced shorter hemlines, dropped waists, and loose silhouettes. Cloche hats and bobbed hairstyles completed the look, emphasizing the sense of youthful exuberance and newfound empowerment.

1930s: The Great Depression – Elegance and Escapism

As the world faced economic hardship during the Great Depression, fashion took a more subdued turn. Women’s fashion of the 1930s was characterized by bias-cut dresses that clung to the body, creating a sense of sophistication and femininity. Long, flowing gowns with artful drapery were also popular, offering a touch of escapism from the harsh realities of the time.

1940s: World War II – Utility and Patriotism

World War II significantly impacted fashion, as materials were rationed, and practicality became essential. Utility fashion emerged, with women wearing dresses with simplified designs and fewer embellishments. The iconic “Rosie the Riveter” look, featuring denim overalls and work shirts, symbolized the contribution of women to the war effort. Patriotism was evident in fashion through the use of flag-inspired motifs and colors.

1950s: Post-War Prosperity – Dior’s New Look and Rock ‘n’ Roll

The 1950s witnessed a return to luxury and femininity with Christian Dior’s “New Look.” This style featured nipped-in waists, full skirts, and an emphasis on an hourglass figure. The emergence of rock ‘n’ roll brought about rebellious youth subcultures, with leather jackets, denim jeans, and pompadour hairstyles becoming iconic symbols of teenage rebellion.

1960s: The Swinging Sixties – Mod and Psychedelic

The 1960s were a time of immense social change and cultural revolution. Fashion embraced bold colors, geometric shapes, and psychedelic patterns. The mod style, characterized by miniskirts, shift dresses, and go-go boots, gained popularity. Icons like Twiggy and the Beatles influenced fashion choices, and the era’s sense of freedom and experimentation permeated clothing designs.

1970s: Disco Fever and Bohemian Chic

Disco music and nightlife became a dominant cultural force in the 1970s, influencing fashion trends. Glittering disco balls and dance floors inspired glamorous, shiny outfits with deep necklines and wide-legged pants. Simultaneously, the bohemian chic look celebrated individualism with flowy maxi dresses, fringe details, and an emphasis on natural fabrics like cotton and suede.

1980s: Excess and Bold Statements

Excess and bold fashion statements marked the 1980s. Power suits with exaggerated shoulder pads became the uniform of corporate women, signaling their rise in the workplace. Punk and new-wave styles brought leather jackets, ripped jeans, and bold makeup to the forefront. The era also witnessed the emergence of hip-hop fashion with tracksuits, gold chains, and high-top sneakers.

1990s: Minimalism and Grunge

The 1990s saw a stark departure from the excess of the ’80s. Minimalism became a dominant theme, with clean lines, neutral colors, and simple silhouettes. Inspired by Seattle’s music scene, Grunge fashion included flannel shirts, ripped jeans and combat boots. This era celebrated a more laid-back and anti-establishment attitude.

Fashion reflects the times, and vintage fashion allows us to explore the past through clothing. Each decade, it brought its unique style, influenced by cultural, economic, and social factors. Whether it’s the glamorous flapper dresses of the 1920s or the rebellious spirit of the 1980s, vintage fashion inspires and influences contemporary style. So, the next time you don a piece of vintage clothing, remember that you’re not just wearing a garment; you’re stepping into a piece of history.

In conclusion, vintage fashion provides a window into the past, allowing us to appreciate each decade’s creativity, resilience, and innovation. Whether you’re drawn to the elegance of the 1930s or the boldness of the 1980s, vintage fashion offers a diverse range of styles to explore and integrate into your modern wardrobe. By understanding the evolution of vintage fashion, we can better appreciate the rich tapestry of our sartorial history.

What the accessories do you have?

Accessories are a very important detail in a person’s style. After all, it is through accessories that you can emphasize the individuality of a person. Sometimes the most dull and boring clothes can be enlivened by properly chosen accessories. Choosing accessories, it is important to pay attention to their form, the material from which they are made, their color. Of course, accessories have their own fashion.

    Decorations

    • Jewelry draws special attention to its owner. Earrings draw attention to the face, to the eyes. Bracelets emphasize the hands and necklaces draw attention to the neck and cleavage area.
    • This season at the peak of popularity are large, massive earrings. The preference is given to asymmetric or even different earrings.
    • Large bracelets are also very fashionable; you can wear them directly over the sleeve of your clothes.
    • Massive necklaces should be worn not only for going out, but also in everyday life.
    • Bracelets, earrings, rings, necklaces can be worn this season at the same time and it will not be considered tasteless.

Accessories provide an opportunity to bring freshness and newness to your image. Sometimes accessories hide a secret meaning, through which their owner is trying to reflect his mood.

The brighter the accessory, the more attention it attracts. This season, stylists recommend being bold and not being afraid to experiment with bright colors, large shapes of accessories.

Accessories will undoubtedly help to emphasize the individuality and make the image unique. If your closet is dominated by dark colors, if you need to comply with a strict dress code, you can always add colored and bright accessories and the world around will play entirely different colors!

    Japanese national dress???

The customs and culture of any nation are embodied in clothing. The traditional clothing of Japan wafuku is extremely beautiful and conveys the spirit of this country.

Let’s look at the most common types and styles of men’s and women’s clothing from the homeland of the samurai.

    Kimono

The kimono is a traditional garment of Japan and is a long robe with wide sleeves, which is tied at the waist with an obi belt. There are numerous straps and cords on the kimono. The difference between women’s kimono and men’s is that the robe of a Japanese woman consists of 12 parts, and it is almost impossible to put it on by yourself. A man’s kimono, on the other hand, is simpler, made of five elements and with short sleeves.

Kimono is tucked in from left to right, the exception is a funeral – on them the tucking goes in reverse order. A real Japanese kimono has a high price – from ten thousand dollars in the basic set, and with all the accessories about twenty thousand.

How the biggest watch brands are taking care of the planet?

At first glance it seems strange: where are watches, and where are environmental problems, where is the threat of irreversible pollution of the planet?! A wristwatch is so small, can it do any harm to the environment comparable to the impact of modern energy, mining and manufacturing industries, transportation?
True, the watches themselves are, in general, quite clean, their work is in no way connected with the toxic emissions into the atmosphere, their production is concentrated in relatively small factories, if not in artisanal type workshops. The volume of materials that could be “blamed” for the creation of watches (metals, polymers) is not comparable with that of the automobile industry, for example…
And yet each year the global watch industry, especially luxury brands, increasingly turns its face to the theme of ecology. By promoting their achievements in this field, the watchmaking top brands, on the one hand, contribute to the preservation of our world and, on the other hand, perhaps more importantly, quite loudly draw attention to environmental issues.
Watch brands contribute to the preservation and improvement of the Earth’s nature and climate in various ways. Let’s take a look at some of them.

    BUT!!!

For the production of watches and their components, literally, garbage is used – primarily used plastic “mined” both on land and in the sea. It is known that all kinds of waste of this kind – PET bottles, plastic bags, etc. – practically do not decompose in the natural environment and greatly pollute it. Collection of such waste, its recycling and further use is the most direct, most obvious way to solve environmental problems. Of course, it is not easy and, in addition, it is also connected with the aspects harmful for the environment – take for example the exhaust of engines working on sea ships, which catch all sorts of rubbish from the ocean. However, studies show that this circle is by no means closed: it is still more useful to extract the same PET bottles from the waters, collect paper waste, etc.

Modern girls always want to be at the center of fashion events. Especially those who live in large metropolitan areas. Some of them strictly follow the rules, which dictate them the covers of glossy magazines. Others, because of the desire “I do not want to be like everyone else” try to be completely different from the others and wear something that is not considered fashionable. So, what for those that for these, let’s look at today’s fashion rings. What innovations do jewelers offer in 2022 and what should we pay special attention to?

And, of course, let’s start with stylish engagement rings, which are on-trend for 2022. So, the following options are in fashion today:

    • Rings made in the form of a weave. There are many kinds of them. The most popular compositions are the knitting of thin rings, chains and weaving, resembling a braid of ribbons. Such rings are expensive, but look very interesting and stylish.
    • Very romantic looking engagement rings that show one pattern on two rings. It is as if one very wide ring with a pattern was made first and then sawed along – it symbolizes the unity of the spouses. A pair of rings with an image in the form of a heart, a fingerprint or a tree is very popular. And the image can be made to order, which will make your ring individual.
    • Very beautiful look rings made of gold in several colors. As it turns out, there are nine shades of gold. The range varies from white to almost black. In 2022, jewelry made in at least three colors (e.g., yellow, white and green) is the most popular among brides and grooms.
    • The texture, i.e. the condition of the ring’s surface, plays a very important role in wedding rings. Polished gloss is giving way in 2022. And rings made with sand or textured matting are becoming popular. Such rings are very similar to antique jewelry and are very attractive to customers.

    A little bit story, guys

The little prince of haute couture, the child prodigy of haute couture, the fashion revolutionary – all these epithets deserve the great fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. At the age of 19 he became a pupil and an assistant of Christian Dior, at 21 he headed the Fashion House of Christian Dior, and at 26 he founded his own brand Yves Saint Laurent. What are the main achievements of Yves? The famous clothes designer erased the boundaries between men’s and women’s closet, dressing the beautiful half of humanity in a tuxedo with straight cut pants. In 1966 he created a collection that became the starting point of the safari style. Fashionable women all over the world appreciated jackets with patch pockets, wide belts and dresses with laces. Yves Saint Laurent popularized leather jackets and introduced high boots into the women’s closet. He united the world of art and fashion by creating dresses of fabrics with abstract paintings.

In 1962, Yves Saint Laurent created a real fashion revolution, rethinking the classic men’s suit, giving it sexuality and as a result introducing the first women’s tuxedo. The fashion pundits were shocked, but the most daring women of the time embraced the innovation with gusto. Legend has it that when a devotee of YSL came to the restaurant at The Plaza Hotel in a tuxedo and pants, she was not allowed in due to non-compliance with the dress code – then the resourceful fashion rebel took off her pants and proudly walked to an empty table.

    ]]>
How to use an unusual wristwatch?

Before using a wristwatch, you should carefully read the manufacturer’s instructions since each model may require special care. For example, an unusual mechanical wristwatch requires winding by first removing it from the wrist. If you have a self-winding wristwatch, it should be stored in a special case with a driving base that imitates the winding procedure.
As for quartz watches, they require the battery to be replaced from time to time by a special workshop. Even if your watch is no longer in use, it is worth having a watchmaker take the battery out, as it may leak over time.

It is also worth checking your designer wristwatch periodically at a service center. For mechanical chronometers, you can get by with an inspection every 3 to 4 years, but quartz watches require even more infrequent tests. This is necessary to adjust the accuracy of the movement, lubricate and clean it. It is important to understand that any amateurism here does not make sense and can lead to a decrease in water resistance, as well as the loss of warranty. The strap/bracelet also requires attention, and the leather strap may be easily replaced with a new one, and the steel bracelet may be simply polished.

You should not change the calendar if the time on the watch is between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., which may cause the movement to malfunction. During this period, the movement automatically adjusts the date and may become jammed. You should not press the “reset” button while the watch is running because that can also damage the movement. You must stop it first and then reset it.

Gabrielle Chanel built her life the way she liked it. The hardships of being an orphan and a successful career as a businesswoman shaped her unique, daring, and free-spirited character, which was far ahead of its time. The love and support of loyal friends and fans, an interest in culture, a thirst for new discoveries and a passion for travel shaped her personality. Giving women a new style free from prejudice and excess, and filling it with fresh accents borrowed from men’s closet, Coco Chanel has created a special vision of elegance – timeless and very modern at the same time. Loosely thrown around the neck strands of pearls, sparkling with diamonds jewelry and of course the legendary fragrances became synonymous with flawless style. The style of a progressive woman at the forefront of her era, whose way of life and versatility were the basis of the philosophy and values of the fashion house that to this day inspires women around the world.

In the legendary atelier on Rue Cambon, the staff addressed her as “Mademoiselle”, friends called the playful young lady Coco, but Gabrielle is her true personality, elegant and very passionate, without admixes or pretense. Perfumer Olivier Polge conveyed it masterfully.

Work on the bottle took several months – the result is a unique flask, whose square silhouette is, at the same time, an identifiable shape of the previous Chanel fragrances. Translucent bottle has a silver and gold color simultaneously – an unusual shade masters “copied” from the fabrics of haute couture collections. Actress and longtime friend of the brand Kristen Stewart became the face of the fragrance.
