Some eminent designers of the world’s high fashion in recent years are increasingly using natural chocolate to create their unusual collections. In their opinion, such outfits, shoes and jewelry perfectly complement almost any image.
The dresses the models wore were made of fabric. But all the decor – fanciful flowers, butterflies and lace with the finest details – was chocolate.
The details of the outfit were finished and glued just before they went on the catwalk. Designer Vincent Guerle says the hardest part was making sure the chocolate didn’t melt and break.
“The main difficulty of a dress with chocolate is temperature, because chocolate melts from body temperature. You need some kind of fabric or veil. You also have to keep an eye on the temperature in the room. And another problem is the fragility of the chocolate itself”, notes the master.
Such shows are held at the Paris Chocolate Fair for the 26th time. Last year, the pandemic prevented its conduct. That’s why they decided to call the show a renaissance in honor of the recovery of life after COVID-19. The dresses can’t be worn again after the show, because they are used only for advertising of the confectioner’s shop. But the decorations can be enjoyed by everyone at the fair.
